Downers UFB Project

Cleanways have been working alongside Downers for the past five years on the long-term Ultra-fast broadband project being rolled out throughout Southland. With all UFB services in-ground, Cleanways have carried out the trenching work for Downers using their Hydro Excavation trucks.

Similar to Safe Dig, hydro excavation uses high-pressure water jets to break up solid ground, whilst simultaneously vacuuming the debris into a holding tank for disposal.

This method is non-invasive, cost-effective and accurate, providing a safeguard against hitting or damaging underground infrastructure prior to starting excavation or installation.
